1. Why should I choose ComputeAble and not other computer company?
Well first and foremost, we're very good at giving computer lessons. Additionally, our lessons are flexible. You can choose the lesson you want as apposed to other training companies that are usually not very flexible as they try to book you into a series of pre-scheduled classes that are usually very expensive.

With ComputeAble your lesson consists of 1 tutor and you. You take only what you want to learn. You can learn at your pace. We want you to "Get it"! This allows you to learn at a speed that's the most comfortable for you, so you learn more efficiently at the time that's most convenient to you.

Our lessons are personal tutoring, which means personal attention to your computer learning needs. Plus, we can come to your home or meet you at a local community center, library or even a restaurant. Your ComputeAble tutor will bring a laptop computer with them that will have Internet access if needed for the lesson.

2. Will materials/notes be given on the lesson I want to attend?
Yes we supply materials. Generally speaking, we believe that you will learn better by taking your own notes. However, we will still be supplying our session materials for the topics we cover.

3. Why would I need lessons? I know how to get around computers.
To increase productivity by learning features and functions in the software you already have. To get a promotion by learning new software necessary for a position. To save time by learning how to search the internet quicker. Additionally, there are many tools, tricks, techniques that most people don't know about, that can make using your computer even more productive, profitable or entertaining.

4. How much does ComputeAble charge?

With great prices there's never a need to hide them in some hard to find link. Standard ComputeAble introductory session rates are: $25.00 for the first hour and $20.00 an hour for each hour after that.

Intermediate sessions are $30.00 for the first hour and $25.00 an hour after that.

5. When and how do I pay for the lessons?

6. How far in advance should I let my tutor know of a cancellation if necessary?
ComputeAble tries to be as understanding and as flexible as possible. To avoid any misunderstandings, it's a good idea for both you and ComputeAble to agree on a cancellation. We would appreciate a 24 hour notice for cancellation at minimum. Cancellation that are not made 24 hours prior to the session date and time will be charged the $25.00 first hour fee.

7. Where is my lesson held?

Most customers have their session in their homes where they have access to their computer and are in a comfortable environment that they're familiar with. But, you can meet ComputeAble anywhere you'd like, a local restaurant, café, community center or library, it's totally up to you.

Safety and the comfort of our customers (and tutors) is very important to us!

Always talk to ComputeAble first over the telephone, prior to meeting your tutor. Do not base your meeting time and place on emails alone! It will save you a lot of headache and will also give you the peace of mind as to the appearance of your tutor when you meet for the first time, so you know what they look like.

Your ComputeAble tutor will bring a laptop computer with them that will have Internet access if needed for the lesson.

8. Can I ask ComputeAble a subject-related question before hiring them?
Yes. Before you hire any tutor, we encourage you to verify their qualifications and experience to ensure he or she is the right fit for you. However, tutors are paid by customers to answer and teach computer related subjects and questions to train the customer. Complimentary services are at the discretion of ComputeAble’s President, Chuck Caputo.

9. How many lessons are there for the course I am interested?
That depends on your learning speed and goals. ComputeAble's goal is to ensure that you understand what is being taught so that you can apply it in the future from then on.

Many lessons are designed to be introductions and usually can be done in 1 hour. Other lessons will require 2-3 lessons to allow the customer to gain a repeatable and thorough knowledge of the subject, software or computer function.

10. My computer is slow. Is this because of a virus? Maybe, maybe not. PC's, like automobiles, need periodic tune ups. Cleaning up your computer drives, registry clean-up, removing unneeded programs from bogging it down, or a memory upgrade may speed it up, but in the day and age the odds are very good a minor or even a major virus has installed into your computer. ComputeAble can teach you how to clean and protect your computer from malicious viruses and mallware.

11.
Isn't a wireless laptop, or a broadband connection expensive and complicated? No. Prices vary like anything else. Certain things are critical and certain things are just "bells and whistles". We can help you with your questions, purchase and setup. High speed internet and a wireless network at home are reasonably priced and once you see the difference you'll love it.

12. What is the duration for each lesson?
It's all up to you. A minimum of 1 hour is required per lesson. Many lessons are designed to be introductions and usually can be done in 1 hour. Other subjects may require 2-3 lessons to allow the customer to gain a repeatable and thorough knowledge of the subject, software or computer function.

18. What are computer lessons?

Computer lessons are conducted one-on-one for personalized computer assistance and instruction that takes place in your home, office, our office, a local library or community center—at your convenience. You will learn on your computer, using your software, and working on the content of your interests—at your speed.  (if you do not have a computer we will bring one) Everyone learns differently and at different speeds. As your computer tutor, we'll customize your lesson to fit your learning style and speed. You decide the curriculum: For the novice it could be learning to write emails, do searches on the internet, and learn basics on the word-processor. For the experienced, it could be learning how to more effectively use your applications, or learn a brand new software application for a specific project. Working with us you will learn more effectively and efficiently because you'll spend less time repeating unnecessary actions, fixing problems, or wondering why it worked before and it doesn't work now.
